Dear Praying Friends
It’s been awhile since I wrote! I’m surprised at times how quickly the time goes by! Christmas has come and gone, January is over, and we’re steaming into 2011…
Here’s the skinny on what’s happening… the photos were taken at the "Cabalgata de Reyes" (Parade to celebrate "Kings Day" - Epiphany, January 6 - in Madrid) and at our January fellowship retreat weekend.
What’s Happened recently…
Time of Fellowship for our team… our family joined the rest of our World Team Spain contingency for a weekend of dialogue and fellowship. Since we all live so far apart, we decided to have an extra retreat this year, to hang out, have fun, and also engage in some important discussion on how we operate as a team. It was enriching and encouraging.
World Team Mobilization Workshop… I (Jacob) participated with World Team Europe members in a week focused on the topic of Mobilization (recruitment) of new members. The workshop took place at our team's training centre just north of Madrid. We were challenged to work, and to pray, as Jesus told his disciples...“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." (Luke 10.2)
Family visitor… Karen’s brother Chris has been with us for the past weeks… Chris surprised the girls, arriving with their Christmas gifts. It's been good to connect!
What’s coming up…
MBTI follow up work… Karen will meet this weekend with our team in Cáceres as part of their effort to grow as a team. These discussions are valuable as people learn more about themselves, each other, and the dynamics created by the different personalities working together.
Coaching Workshop… I (Jacob) form part of a training team leading a Coaching Workshop next week… We have 10 people joining us from France, Italy and Spain to learn about how Coaching skills can impact their current ministry relationships.
Thanks again for your prayers and support! December financial support was the best of 2011. God continues to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.
