Dear Friends:

Thanks again for praying for us! God is certainly moving and directing our paths!

Update
“Bible Study Method” Course
Jorge Mackh (World Team) and I have been teaching this course to 2 men in Calatayud. This Sunday we celebrated the completion of the course by awarding certificates. Some application follow up will continue, and a new course chosen shortly.

The Landrums arrive tomorrow. Craig & Brenda have served in México for 20 years, so we look forward to this experienced couple joining the work in Calatayud. Next Sunday will be their introduction to the church group, complete with lunch. Please pray for them as they settle in.

Spain Team Leadership Retreat preparation continues... we now have a conference speaker! This interactive event will revolve around the theme, "More Than Conquerors!"

Health concerns... please keep the Cooks and Tjernagels in your prayers...

Upcoming
Transitions... following an intensive time of praying, interacting with many individuals, and dialoguing with World Team leadership, our family is making preparations to transition to ministry in Canada. This may come as a surprise to some, as we have worked through this with a reduced, albeit large, group of people. If you would like to interact on this with us, please do not hesitate to call or email. Even as we returned to Spain in 2009, we had a sense that this might be our last term here for this stage of service. This past September, we began to talk about it more, and in December asked a group of people to join us in prayer to discern God's will. Through the course of the past 3 months, we have prayed, talked, and prayed some more. At first, we simply felt that our time in Spain was concluding: we didn't know what next! As our process has unfolded, we have seen God transition us to continue to serve with World Team, but in the Canadian office. I, Jacob, will be serving in the mobilization of new cross-cultural workers with an emphasis on mobilizing church-based teams. I'm also glad to note that my transition to Canada does not cut me off from Spain completely, I'll be able to participate in ongoing development on the field, something that allows for continuity both for me and the field. Please do continue to pray for us as we clarify this new role, but even more so as our family and team works through the ramifications of this change. And, again, if you wish to dialogue about this, please do not hesitate to contact us! We value your ongoing prayers, support and input.

Residency visa hitch...
There's one last concern that we ask you to pray about. We are in the process of renewing our residency visas. Sounds silly, planning to leave the country, and renewing visas at the same time! However, we still need to live here legally while we are here. We've been informed that Megan, Carly and Jacob have been granted visas... but that Karen's visa has been denied. So, we are in the process of appealing that decision, and also pursuing another avenue that could allow Karen to remain in Europe with us until the middle of July. We Praise God that Megan and Carly's visas were granted... changing school mid-course would have been tough. Would you please pray for this as well?

Wow, I haven't prepared such a long email update in awhile! If you've reached this part, I want to thank you for persevering! And thanks for praying, we know that with God, everything is possible,
Jacob
