Manitoba visits have gone well
Some exciting potential!
On the road again.... to Western Canada
Thanks for praying for our travel safeties. We had a great trip from Ontario to Manitoba. We did leave later than planned, due to an unexpected hospital visit for Karen's father. God answered Megan's prayer that grandpa would be out of hospital before our departure on Wednesday, June 30, and we travelled easier, knowing that all is well.
The transition from Ontario to Manitoba went well. We have enjoyed interacting with family and friends in various parts of the province. One highlight was a camping weekend in St. Malo (54 family members camped in one area!) Thanks for praying for focus. Although we have not been able to see all the people we had hoped to see, the interactions we've had have been very encouraging and edifying.
One highlight in Manitoba was meeting a Bible Study group that is considering short term service in Spain! This group of young couples has been challenged through Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Life" book to become involved in Kingdom Expansion in some new way. Since my (Jacob) nephew and his wife lead the group, Spain came up as an option! We are now beginning to explore the ramifications and possibilities of all this. Needless to say, this is exciting!
We left Manitoba July 31 to spend a few days in the Saskatoon area. Later this week we travel to Red Deer, Alberta, and then on to Fort St. John, BC for the weekend. Mid August will find us in the Vancouver area before we begin the return trip to Manitoba. We're really excited to get to Vancouver as we have not seen Karen's sister and her family since March of 2000!
1. Journey's mercies as we travel (Approximately 5,500 km round trip)
2. Continued joy in meeting with ongoing and new supporters
3. Clarity as we interact with people interested in missions opportunities
Thanking you for your prayers on behalf of the family...
