Here’s what He says in Isaiah 57.18-19

I have seen what they do,
but I will heal them anyway!
I will lead them.
I will comfort those who mourn,
bringing words of praise to their lips.
May they have abundant peace, both near and far,”
says the LORD, who heals them.

See Isaiah 57 for the full context

God is here speaking to the people of Israel who have gone after idols! Does He burn them with His wrath? Does He reject them forever? NO!!! He says, “I will comfort those who mourn, bringing words of praise to their lips.” His desire to comfort me when I mourn, especially when I mourn due to my own stupidity, idolatry, or the consequence of my sin: THAT brings praise to my lips! What an AWESOME GOD we serve! He is our greatest reward!

Fall Ramp Up Continues
As I prepare for my trip to Spain and all it entails (visiting partner churches, annual team evaluations, fall retreat (Oct 17-19), and reconnecting with church and non-church friends), and our girls enter their fall schedules, things tend to get crazy around our place. Please pray that we, especially I (Jacob), would keep proper priorities in this circumstance. I tend to get jealous of my time and too focused on what’s ahead to notice those I love around me. I also tend to think it all has to go perfectly. That’s why that passage in Isaiah speaks to me so much today! Busyness is not always godliness!

Thanks so much for praying for us! We are grateful for the opportunity to share the weight of ministry with others. I know our struggles are not unique. I know many of you carry great weight, and do not have the blessing of a wider prayer team as we do. Maybe you could! But know that we are thankful for your prayers, your love and your partnership with us in this growing and serving stage of life!

Blessings and love
Jacob and Karen Ginter
