Dear Praying Friends

Thank you for your ongoing involvement in this ministry through your diligent prayers. I rejoice to remember that whenever we ask anything according to God’s will, He hears us--- and we know that we have what we asked Him for! (I John 5:15) So, let’s keep praying in line with His will. We have so much to enjoy in His good and perfect will!

Myths About Missions

Myth #8:
Missions is a waste of young lives.
Fact: It is true that missions does exact a price in the currency of suffering, loneliness, privation, struggles, and, at times, even martyrdom. The register of those who have laid down their lives for the cause of Christ includes the names of Jim Elliot and the Auca Five, Chet Bitterman, Stanley Dale, Dr. Paul Carlson, and Martin Burnham. Yet with Paul they could have said, "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." But history shows the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. Those who have died for the cause have not died in vain. (by Harold J. Sala)

As Jim Elliot said, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose!" Paul also reminds us, "For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison." (II Corinthians 4:17)

To be honest, there IS a price. But the gain far outweighs the investment!

What Happened?
- WTC Mobilization Fund-Raising Banquet – this event came off very nicely, thanks to the many who helped prepare, organize, decorate, and participate!
- Continued follow up with people interested in cross-cultural ministry – while this is an ongoing prayer request, I am SO grateful for the 3 campus reps I am now training for representation of WTC on various College Campuses.

What’s Happening?
- Preparation for trip to Spain – I will be traveling to Spain in October for mobilization meetings, team training, and interaction with former team-mates and friends
- SPARK! TBS – Paul and I have offered the SPARK! program to the students at the Toronto Baptist Seminary and Bible College – it is our prayer to grow students’ interest in missions through this fall event

Once again, thank you for your partnership with us through prayer. We can approach His throne of grace with boldness! May you experience the joy of Jesus today as you seek and serve Him!
