Mobilizing Canadians Now - Jacob & Karen Ginter

Dear friends

I’m writing you from Sunny Spain! (well, actually, the sun’s not up yet, but we live in hope, right?)

I arrived here on Thursday, and have really enjoyed catching up with friends, serving our team in Velilla, speaking in our church in Cáceres, and now the beginnings of the mobilization conference. Yes, it’s been full, but it’s been good! I praise God that jetlag does not seem to have affected me this time around. That makes clear thinking possible!!

Experiencing God's Love in Spain!

Wow, on my 2nd day back in Spain, a good friend (Jesús Aparicio) and I walked around Pozuelo. He wanted to show me the updates they'd made to the old town square. The project is truly amazing! But, what's more, as we walked around, I suddenly noticed Manolo and Nieves, a couple that frequented our Bible Studies during the years we lived in Pozuelo! We were all so excited to see each other! Although my time in Spain is short, God is orchestrating amazing little opportunities to reconnect with friends. He is SO GOOD, and shows me His love in such NEAT ways!!! (I'm now invited to join them for dinner during my last week in Spain. I KNOW God has some good conversation in line for us!)

Update on items I asked you to prayed for...

Personal items
A God-Centred daily walk – that those I connect with will sense Jesus, not just Jacob, in our interactions.
- In a number of instances, I’ve seen God shining through, taking conversations to levels that “Jacob alone” could not accomplish (I’ve noted one in the Online Journal)
Balance – I am committed to carving out time to spend alone with God, to rejuvenate, and to remain focused on Him in the midst of the abundant activity. Pray I’d be faithful to do this!
- Due to my reliance on public transportation, I’ve had ample opportunity to read God’s Word!
On Thursday, October 11, Paul Muzzin (my WTC co-worker in mobilization) will be beginning the SPARK! sessions for Toronto Baptist Seminary. We still need 2 people to sign up for this to be carried out.
- Paul Muzzin wrote me this weekend to say that we have enough people signed up to make this a “GO!” GREAT!
Mobilization Summit
15 WT members from various Fields and Sending Offices are meeting until Friday to set goals and patterns for mobilizing more workers for God’s “fields of harvest”
- We started our time together with a sense of anticipation as to what God has in store for World Team. We’ll have long days, but I’m confident we’ll come away with a clear sense of direction for the next 3 years.

Thanks for partnering with me in prayer!

Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. “What a huge harvest!” he said to his disciples. “How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!” (Matthew 9.35-38 The Message)
