Retaining wall project
Thanks for your prayers! This team WORKED HARD to get the job done! We now have a solid wall, built to code (according to zone requirements) and built to last! I'd encourage you to check out the pictures at www.beyondahandshake.com/thoughts The fourth picture in shows the whole team on the finished wall. Thank YOU to the workers and organizers of this first Beyond A Handshake Ministries project!
You've most likely heard people say before that church planting in Spain is a long process. Those of us who live in Spain and dedicate our lives to this dream are painfully aware of the time and effort involved in getting a church established and organized. The members of our field are dreaming about involving more churches, more new recruits, and more individual Spaniards to move this process along, with the dream of seeing 20 new churches started in the next 10 years. Part of this also includes our intentional involvement in church planting efforts around us. We believe that God "desires that none should perish" without at least the opportunity to embrace the wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray for us and with us as we work through the stages of planning and the execution of these plans. I'm excited about the weekend ahead.
Prayer Conference 2006 - See the Son in Spain!!
The 2005 Prayer Conference, with the theme "See the Son in Spain" convinced us of the need to repeat! It was a great week of learning about the Spanish culture, listening as Spanish Christians shared their dreams, struggles and visions, and developing a heart for Spain's need for the Gospel. While the dates are not yet confirmed, we'd ask that you already begin considering a trip out to Madrid in late spring, early summer. This short-term experience can have a long-term impact on you, on us, and on those whom we pray for. In the meantime, please pray for us as we begin planning the logistics of this important upcoming event.
Thanks again for standing with us in prayer. I've been impacted lately, significantly, by the promise we read in Jeremiah 29.11... "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope." I want to live in that promise. I want others to embrace that promise. And I want God to receive the glory for HIS promises, and HIS faithfulness in standing by what HE has promised.
