Dear Praying Friends
I thank my God when I consider your involvement in my life! Thanks for praying!
Canadian hockey fans will long remember "The Goal" scored by Paul Henderson to clinch the 1972 "Summit Series" for Team Canada against the former Soviet Union. The stamp photo on the right reveals the level to which we're dedicated to remembering this historic moment.
In hockey, as in all sport, the "goal" of the game is to get goals - preferably more than the opposing team!
"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!" (Philippians 3.10 NLT)
Paul was all about goals too! "Know Christ," "experience resurrection power," "suffer with Christ," and "share in Christ's death" were all goals Paul strained towards.
How do Paul's goals strike you? To be honest, some of these appeal to me, while others (I like the resurrection idea, but somehow would like to avoid the death part) make me a little less-than-motivated.
But, I have to say, I want to KNOW HIM! In this case, the statement, "To know HIM is to love HIM" is absolutely true. No wonder Paul was crazy about HIM!
Who do you know that really KNOWS Jesus? Consider asking them what it was about Jesus that drew them to HIM, and what it is that keeps them close to HIM. It just might allow you to KNOW HIM more!
What’s Been Happening
- Health issues… thanks for praying, all 3 of my girls (Karen, Megan and Carly) are doing better! Please continue to pray that we would experience good health as we finish off 2011!
- College connections – both connecting points were so encouraging! I am now in conversation with a young lady at one school, preparing her to represent WTC on the campus
- Connecting with supporters – I have had several conversations with supporters in this area. Our desire is to communicate our heart-felt thanks for the support we’ve received, and to communicate clearly what it is that I am currently involved with at World Team
- Training – I (Jacob) will take part in MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) Candidate school November 11 and 12… as part of the research needed for WTC to provide good logistical support to our missionary candidates and on-field personnel (no, I am not joining MAF – although flying would be fun!)
Thanks again for praying! This is the confidence we have before Him, that whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us! (I John 5.14)
P.S. You may know someone who would do well to serve in cross-cultural ministry... if so, send me an email - Jacob.Ginter@WorldTeam.org I'd love to interact!
