Dear praying friends
We continue to enjoy comfortable autumn weather! Someone told me recently, though, that environmental officials are already issuing warnings about water usage for next summer if the rainfall does not increase significantly. That, along with some information below, could serve for your prayer items this week!
1. Spain Team Prayer Conference 2010 – there is now information available on our website, CLICK HERE!
2. New MUSTARD SEED (our regular prayer letter, including updates from Megan and Carly) now available online… CLICK HERE!
3. Pray for open minds and mentalities… I had some interesting conversations this weekend, some people are searching, some are growing, while others are indifferent.
Sunday, traveling by train to Zaragoza, I had the privilege of sharing Christ with a woman expressly open to the Gospel. As we talked about the state of society, I commented that while society can enforce laws prohibiting murder, there is no law to touch the hatred that motivates murder. Later in the conversation, when I shared how Christ could transform our hating hearts into loving hearts, she said, "I've been puzzling over what you meant earlier. Now I see." I pray that Adriana would come to know Christ for who He is, glorious, divine, the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world.
On the return trip, anxious to catch the last train from Madrid to El Escorial before midnight, I noticed a young man reading the bible. I approached him, saying, "It's not often I see someone reading the bible in the train station!" He responded, "True, you don't see that too often, do you?" Hans, the young man, having experienced some difficulties lately, recently returned to his Gospel roots, and is seeking God as he works through the tangles of his life. We spoke frankly the entire hour back to town. He lives near our home! Today I had coffee and a follow up conversation with him. I pray that God uses me to speak truth about God's will into his life, and that God's Spirit grants him the strength to do that which is God's will.
These “Divine Appointments” encourage me tremendously! What a privilege to speak into the lives of people God is touching in this great country!
Do pray to “the Glorious Father,” that both believers and not-yet-believers in Spain, would be given “a Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that [they] will know Him better.” (Ephesians 1.17 ncv)
Thanks so much for your ongoing prayers! God is so gracious, and we rejoice to see His hand moving in our lives, and in lives around us.
