It’s been awhile since you’ve heard from us! During my visit with supporters back in Manitoba in October, I was encouraged to change up what we’re doing with these communiqués. I trust the short note I share with you this week is an encouragement to remind you that God is good, and that we appreciate the part God has called you to take in our lives and ministry!
Back in Canada – travel, disorientation, God’s provision
Our family arrived in Ontario June 26. The summer months were spent mainly with family, both in Ontario and Manitoba. Although we had a number of kilometers to cover, we certainly enjoyed the interaction with people we had not seen for several years! I (Jacob) really struggled with a sense of instability and disorientation.
What with our house all packed into boxes in Spain, no permanent address to call “home” (we are living with Karen’s mom this year), and all the traveling, I felt somewhat out of sorts.
One area where God met my needs through the summer was through the opportunity to speak in churches. I shared a number of times on the topic of the Samaritan woman, a story of a woman whose thirst for acceptance and love has driven her to a series of unhealthy marriage relationships. (See the story in John 4) Almost every time I shared that message, I felt that God spoke to me about meeting a different need in my life. Once He encouraged me that He accepts and loves me just as I am. Another time, when I was especially dealing with a sense of instability, He reminded me that He is my rock, my fortress and my stability.
So, even while we’re on our Home Ministry Assignment, God is supplying all our needs according to His riches in Glory!
I should also mention that while I felt disoriented, my family went out of their way to make us feel welcome! Thanks to all of you (Ginter and Duncan side!!!!). We love you so much!
Thanks for praying for us! Thanks for supporting us. We look forward to touching base with you during our time in Canada!
