Mobilizing Canadians Now - Jacob & Karen Ginter

Wednesday, November 24, 2004

Hi everybody!

What a great God we serve! He has guarded and protected, challenged and chastened, encouraged and blessed His people throughout the ages. We too have experienced God in this way. As Paul the apostle wrote, we too pray that "... the Father of glory may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him."

Prayer requested for World Team Canada Board of Directors

Thank you so very much, all of you who pray for us. What with life's regular ups and downs, it is so encouraging to remember the prayer team God has gifted us with. As you read the followup on last month's items and a little more information on the big issues before the new year, we ask that you pray as God leads you regarding the "harvest fields" of Spain.

Last month's items...

1. Safety in travel and the arrival of ALL our luggage in Spain!
- Thanks for your prayers!
2. Good rest over the weekend as we adapt to the new time zone.
- Wow did we enjoy the rest on that weekend!
3. Preparation for our next team retreat (October 8-10).
- This was a tremendous retreat, both in regards to the teaching we received from Tom Rush, and in regards to time together with other team members.
4. Especially for Megan and Carly, reintegration into life in Pozuelo.
- Thanks for your prayers. We have rejoiced to see our girls fitting back in "at home."
5. That God be glorified in our thoughts, words, actions, and decisions!!
- How do I report on this? Ongoing prayer request? Definitely! However, we are thankful for some clear leadings we have seen in this area.

Please pray for the following...

1. Video and Pizza Night
- Beginning this Friday (November 26), our group will be hosting a video and pizza night, once a month. The idea is to invite friends, watch a movie together, and discuss the themes seen in the movie. We're hoping to fill the house this weekend!
2. Jim and Barbara McNamee
- Jim and Barbara are spreading the ministry of Young Life (www.younglife.org ) to touch the lives of youth in Spain. They arrived last Friday and are in the process of applying for residency status, searching for a home, and shopping around for a good car. Please keep them in your prayers regarding their adaption and the beginnings of their ministry in Spain.
3. Lois Drake - New Teacher's Assistant for the Evangelical Christian Academy in Spain
- Lois Drake, a retired former school teacher from West Montrose, Ontario, plans to arrive in January, 2005 to serve as teacher's assistant for elementary students at ECA. World Team partners with the Evangelical Christian Academy in Spain. We're excited about this adventure for Lois! Please pray for her as she says good-bye to family and friends, and prepares for this opportunity to serve.
4. World Team Canada Board
- The WTC board met this weekend to discuss future options and opportunities for World Team's Canadian Sending center. WTC is seeking to posture itself to better serve as a church planting mission in Canada and abroad. Please pray for leadership, office staff, board members, and Canadian missionaries under World Team as different challenges and opportunities are addressed.

Again, thanks SO MUCH for your prayers. I just love the Psalmist's perspective when he says, "My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is in Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us." (Psalm 62.5-8)

Blessings
Jacob and Karen
